Everything You Need to Know About Cyber Monday 2022

How do you know you're really getting a great deal on Cyber Monday 2022? We'll show you everything you need to know!

Everything You Need to Know About Cyber Monday 2022

There's a right time of year to buy just about everything! Cyber Monday can be one of those times, but only if you know how to shop this holiday right. So move over Prime Day and Black Friday. We'll show you how to get the hottest deals for Cyber Monday 2022.

When does Cyber Monday start?

OK, so here’s the deal: Technically, Cyber Monday starts on November 28 — and lots of deals will only come available on Monday. But not all of them! The thing is, Cyber Monday is kind of an online continuation of Black Friday, and that means many retailers will have promotions throughout the entire weekend.

Start checking your favorite online retailers well in advance because some of them will start the cyber deals as early as mid-November, and they may continue throughout Cyber Week following the major Cyber Monday sale.

Are Cyber Monday deals better or worse than Black Friday?

Here’s another dose of truth: if you’re shopping for discounts, the deals will be about the same on Cyber Monday as on Black Friday. Now, that doesn’t mean that the specific TV from a specific retailer that you’ve been eyeing will be available for the same deal price on both days. The deals and their timing will vary from one retailer to the next, so if your heart is set on a certain thing, be sure to shop around well in advance to see who is likely to have a sale — and which day they’ll have it.

In general, though, savings are just as good on Cyber Monday as they are on Black Friday. The main difference is, you won’t see those deals in-store on Cyber Monday — just online.

How to make sure you’re getting a good Cyber Monday 2022 deal

One of the things about shopping Cyber Monday — and Black Friday or any other shopping holiday, for that matter — is making sure the “deals” you’re getting are actually good ones.

The thing is, when it comes to offering sales, marketing practices are often a bit deceptive. Sometimes, you’ll discover that retailers mark up products weeks or months in advance of Cyber Monday so that the deal you’re getting isn’t actually a deal. Other times, the marketing hype around a particular discount might say that you’re getting a fabulous deal — but it turns out to only be a minor discount, and you can save more by shopping around.

To make sure those deals are really deals, use the following tips:

  • Start shopping for your must-haves weeks or months in advance. Keep track of prices to discover whether markdowns are only minor discounts or deep savings.
  • Use price checker websites. These sites keep track of prices throughout the year so that you can tell whether the savings you’ve spotted are good ones or not.
  • Be mindful of the fine print to make sure that deals aren’t coming in the form of rebates that could take months to arrive.
